I have to admit, Oreo has a talent for coming up with flavors that make me stop and think, Wait… they’re actually making that?
This time, the brand has three new Oreo flavors coming to stores, and I’m genuinely curious to try all of them.
The new flavors are Banana Pudding, Deep Fried, and Chicken & Waffles. They’re all limited-edition cookies, and there’s an extra twist: Oreo fans will get to vote for the flavor they want to see return in 2027.
Honestly, I already have a favorite in mind.
🥰The New Oreo Flavors
The three flavors couldn’t be more different from one another.
Banana Pudding Oreo might be the easiest one for me to imagine loving. It combines banana and vanilla-flavored crème with vanilla wafer-style cookies. If you already enjoy banana pudding, this sounds like a pretty convincing cookie version of the classic dessert.
And yes, this is probably the first package I’d reach for.
Then there’s Deep Fried Oreo, which sounds like something created after someone spent a little too much time at a fairground food stand.
The cookie has a fried-dough flavor, paired with dark chocolate and fried-dough crème. I’m especially curious about this one because I want to know whether it actually captures that warm, sweet flavor of a deep-fried dessert or simply tastes like a very sweet Golden Oreo.
But then Oreo decided to go completely off the usual cookie map.
Chicken & Waffles Oreo? Really?😮

Yep.
Chicken & Waffles Oreo combines fried-chicken and maple-syrup flavors in the crème, with waffle-inspired cookies.
I’m not going to pretend that I immediately thought, Oh yes, that sounds delicious.
My first reaction was more like: I need to taste this.
That’s what makes this flavor so interesting. Chicken and waffles already work because of the contrast between savory fried chicken and sweet maple syrup. Turning that combination into an Oreo is certainly unusual, but I can see why Oreo went there.
It might be surprisingly good—or it might be the cookie everyone buys just to make their friends try it.
Either way, I want to know.
Which New Oreo Flavor Would I Try First?
Banana Pudding. Easily.
I love the idea of banana and vanilla together, and the vanilla wafer-style cookie sounds like a perfect match for the pudding-inspired filling.
But Chicken & Waffles would probably be my second choice purely because of curiosity.
Deep Fried sits somewhere in the middle. I like the idea, but I’m much more interested in finding out whether the flavor actually reminds me of a freshly fried fairground treat.
And that’s probably the fun part of this Oreo launch. These aren’t three flavors that taste like minor variations of one another. Each one is trying something completely different.
When Can You Try the New Oreo Flavors?
The three limited-edition flavors will begin their online presale on August 17, with the cookies arriving at retailers across the U.S. starting August 24.
Fans can also vote for their favorite flavor beginning August 17. Voting runs through October 12, and Oreo will announce the winning flavor on October 13.
The winner will return to shelves sometime in 2027.
So if I get the chance to try all three, I already know what I’m doing: taste them, decide which one deserves another year, and probably go back for another Banana Pudding Oreo anyway.
Because sometimes the weirdest food ideas turn out to be the ones you end up loving.
